Bird Spirit Guide
The white bird arrives to guide the nineteenth-century woman’s soul to the afterlife. The woman appears serene. Victorians believed birds were spirit guides, messengers from beyond, and symbols of the soul. The white bird carved on the cameo brooch will take flight and soar to the heavens when the woman’s soul is set free.
When my daughter Alix died, I hope a bird accompanied her to the next world and an angel greeted her along with my father on the other side. After her death, I spied a white bird from my breakfast nook that fell the length of the window. At the time, the finality of the image disturbed me. Now I think the bird was a messenger sent from the afterlife to announce Alix’s arrival and comfort me.
Have you had any bird appearances?

Oh, Julie, you know how I feel about this. I know that the birds ARE angels. We have had so many signs of comfort through the past 3 years. I have no doubt.
Sorry I’m late to this post Julie, catching up now! Lovely that Alix paid that visit to you 🕊️And yes, round where I live we have red kites and as they were a particular favourite of Dom’s I always think of him when I see them up in the sky. They are magnificent creatures and seem to fly so confidently and effortlessly above us, and this is how I like to think of my boy now 🦅 ❤️
