When my daughter Alix was in elementary school, she distributed Valentine’s Day cards to the entire class. She received a pile of cards in return. As a teenager she graduated to giving a card to a particular sweetheart. In Victorian times people mailed anonymous Valentine’s Day cards that were either loving or insulting “Vinegar Valentine’s” to their enemies list. These could be rejections of suitors or complaints to professionals such as a doctor who received the message “When a man is your patient he’s plundered in purse and stands a good chance to ride in a hearse!”
I don’t know if Alix has a boyfriend in heaven and as far as I know her previous suitors are still on earth, but she can always revert to her old classroom approach and hand out Valentines to her fellow angels.
