Your story about Alix's Halloween celebrations is truly touching. It's clear that she brought so much joy to your life, and it's beautiful that you're keeping her memory alive by sharing these special moments. The pain of losing a loved one can be overwhelming, and it's okay to feel bittersweet emotions on holidays like Halloween. I'm sending you love, hugs, and support during this difficult time. ๐๐
Thank you so much for the love, hugs and support! Much appreciated and needed! Yes holidays are all bittersweet not just Halloween. Your reading about Alix and sharing the joy we had helps keep her alive too!
My Garrett loved Halloween. It was his favorite holiday, right up until his passing at 33. He decorated the yard with a flourish. He took his young son out every year, dressing up to match whatever his son had chosen. One year was Shaggy to his Scoobie. Another was Slytherin House to Harry Potter. Another was The Joker to his Batman. Halloween brings very fond memories to me as I embrace those above, and many others. I'd love to see a picture of Alix in her witch costume. She sounds like a treasure!
Wonderful that Garrett enjoyed Halloween right up until his death at age 33 and that he dressed in matching costumes with his son! Iโll see if I have any photos of Alix in her witch costume. If you have any of Garrett and his son dressed up for Halloween Iโd love to see those too!
For us Halloween is also bittersweet- the anniversary of my husbandโs father. However, unlike your beloved Alix, my father in law lived a full life, I wish you happy memories of her this holiday as you see the excited kids truck or treating. With love, Jackie.
Oh having Halloween as the anniversary of your father-in-lawโs death does make it bittersweet. I will link the excited children to positive memories of my daughter. Try to enjoy the holiday as well along with the remembrance of you father-in-law. With gratitude for your support, Julie
Halloweens from the past have been on my mind this week. We used to go round the streets calling on neighbours with our three dressed up as ghosts! Happy daysโฆanother life away. But Iโm glad to have the memories, they loved it โค๏ธ
The holiday is both sad and happy for me. But for sure I have wonderful memories and my daughter Alix getting a teddy bear when she rang the neighborโs bell was a Halloween highlight!
So glad to have a picture of my daughter dressed up as Cleopatra for work when she was 18.
19 years not enough time to be planet side
Thatโs a wonderful photo to treasure! If you ever want to share it Iโd love to see it!

What a romantic idea for Halloween. Love isn't just for Valentine's Day!
Yes love deserves celebration for all holidays!
